Sometimes it was just a box, sometimes it was one of the Christmas tins, and sometimes it was a creativity set (like the old art caddy or the case of crayons). I actually toured the Crayola factory in 1994 (when they still let you into the actual factory and not the automated ride) and let me tell you, these guys are well-made. You won't find better crayons than these. I've used Prang, Rose Art, the generic kind...nothing quite matches up. The 24 count is a good sized box for almost anyone, it has a good variety of shades.
