Reader Reviews I bought this toy for my six year old for Christmas, since he saw it in a magazine somewhere and was very insistent about getting it (he put it at the top of his "wish list"). Unfortunately, I could not find it in any store leading up to Christmas, so I purchased it from Amazon through Highlights for Children, and it arrived a bit later than expected (not Amazon's fault, a problem with supply at Highlight's). It was however, very much worth the wait! My six year old and my eight year old have had a blast putting the blocks together and then watching the suspense as they unexpectedly fly apart. Great imaginative play opportunities with them crashing Hot Wheels, other cars, or RC vehicles into a wall or tower constructed of the blocks and watching them "blow up". They also build some of their creations and then drop them on the carpet from a few feet up which also causes an "explosion" as the blocks fly apart. The blocks so far have been amazingly durable. Sometimes the springs can come out, or the hinged brick halves come apart, but they can be put back together relatively easily, and both boys can do this themselves with no problems. Very satisfied with this toy and I would highly recommend it, but you will likely have trouble finding them in a store, so look to get them on-line (they are light so the shipping is not excessive). If you have more than one child, you may want to consider getting two sets, since this provides enough blocks for two children to play with together and sets can be combined to build larger structures.
